ONE LOVE CACAO - THE GENESIS OF A VISION
One Love Cacao, ceremonial cacao, sacred cacao, artisanal cacao, Criollo cacao, Guatemalan cacao, master plant cacao, cacao medicine, cacao ritual, cacao ceremony, cacao culture, ethical cacao, sustainable cacao, living commerce, cacao community.
In February 2022, Sakara — a graduate in International Relations and a lawyer specialized in Migration Law — answered the call of Cacao. This turning point nourished an already committed vision: that of a more just world, rooted in the recognition of ancestral peoples, the transmission of living knowledge, and human dignity.
This journey led her to Central America, into the heart of the Mayan lands, where she discovered a sacred and intimate relationship between guardian communities and the Cacao Plant. It was there that the vision of One Love Cacao gently emerged, as a living offering — a bridge between the wisdom of the Earth, ancestral traditions, and the awakening of hearts.
The project took root through a direct relationship with Mayan farming families, guardians and producers of cacao, and today is embodied through the One Love Creation Association, whose mission is to foster harmonious relationships and lasting peace in the world — by supporting global well-being, the recognition of traditional Earth-based knowledge, and the preservation of natural balance.
WHY CACAO?

The Cacao Plant is not simply a tropical fruit tree. It is a Master Plant, endowed with subtle consciousness, ancient wisdom, and a deep intelligence of connection.
Its medicine works gently, yet profoundly. In addition to being a superfood, it opens the heart and invites reconciliation with oneself, with others, and with the Earth. Its message is one of embodied love, of peace born from within, and of a transformation that honors each person’s rhythm.
The ancient Mayas had elevated this fruit to the rank of “food of the gods” — and not without reason. This is where its scientific name comes from: Theobroma cacao, from the Greek theo (god) and broma (food).
In a world seeking meaning and healing, cacao appears as one of the great allies of our time, as it acts on physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual levels, supporting both individual and collective well-being.
To walk with cacao is also to choose a living supply chain, one that calls for recognition of indigenous guardians and of the Earth’s sacred needs — a way to act for a more just and connected world.
It is a sacred alliance. A response to the world. An act of love.
OUR ENGAGEMENT WITH CACAO

Sakara, Peru, 2023
The project One Love Cacao was born from field research, through encounters with various plantations in different cacao-producing countries.
Today, we collaborate directly — with no intermediaries — with a collective of Mayan farming families in Guatemala, guardians of a living ancestral knowledge and producers of our flagship cacao paste. This partnership, built on trust, supports an ethical supply chain that goes well beyond fair trade standards.
Purchase prices are fair, ensuring true economic autonomy for the producers. The cacao is cultivated using natural practices, in regenerative agroforestry, without chemicals or expensive certifications. Its quality is pure, living, and authentic.
By working with families who grow Criollo cacao, we help preserve rare biodiversity, while fostering real opportunities for social and economic inclusion in rural areas and supporting the tree-to-block artisanal approach.
No children work in the plantations where we source our cacao. (To learn more about child labor in cacao production, click here.)
The headquarters of the One Love Creation Association is located in Coppet, Switzerland.
WHY ONE LOVE CACAO
Before arriving in Guatemala, Sakara passed through Jamaica, where she deeply connected with the vibration of One Love. There, through the living culture of the Jamaican people and the spiritual legacy of Bob Marley, she felt the power of love as a living field of unity, connecting all beings beyond form.
It was within this frequency that the name One Love Cacao naturally came to her — simply, as an evidence. And the more she encountered the Cacao Plant in its subtle and sacred dimension, the more this name revealed itself to be deeply aligned.
“One Love, One Heart, let’s get together and feel all right.” — Bob Marley
ONE LOVE CACAO LOGO ROOTHED IN EARTH AND SPIRIT

Maya monument of a bat, Copan, Honduras, 2022
The One Love Cacao logo reflects the essence of the project: a living cacao, rooted, and a vessel of transformation and connection.
At the center, a bat with open wings — a subtle ally of tropical ecosystems, guardian of forest balance and biodiversity. Present in cacao lands since the time of the Mayas, it embodies a discreet and luminous feminine energy, bearer of love, regeneration, and passage between worlds.
In the background, a half Flower of Life evokes the unity of the living, the invisible threads connecting beings and dimensions.
Our phrase in Spanish, “Medicina para el mundo”, expresses the impulse of the project: an artisanal and sacred cacao, carrier of peace, beauty, and consciousness, working for well-being and harmony in the world.
